Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In order to primarily examine the effectiveness of the US physical education teacher education program from the point of view of the practical instruction skills, we analyzed practice lesson videos of trainee teachers of Japan and the United States, and examined them, using the PETAI analysis method. We also compared exercise observation skills which are core skills of physical education teachers, and examine them. The results of the case examples showed that whereas there is a tendency in which Japanese trainees improve their practical instruction skills as the course progresses, the U.S. trainees have already acquired relatively high practical instruction skills at the beginning of the course.
