Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purposes of the study are to detect circulating tumor cells (CTC) and disseminated tumor cells (DTC) in digestive system cancer and to examine how we apply into the clinical settings.
Preoperative positive rates of CTC and DTC in colon cancer patients were 23% and 26%,respectively. There is a significant higher incidence of postoperative recurrence and cancer related death in patients with CTC positive compared with in negative patients.
