Research Abstract |
ST764 were the most frequently identified sequence types in MRSA strains from ocular site. ST764 has a mutation in psm-mec which regulates virulence factors, and increase virulence. Wall teichoic acids (WTAs) which are major polyanionic polymer components the cell wall of Staphylococcus aureus, plays a critical role in keratitis, and WTA appears to be a viable target for treating S. aureus infection. We developed screening methods for WTA inhibitors, and found some candidates.
