Research Abstract

Autophagy is a regulated process of degradation and recycling of cellular constituents. We showed that autophagy is up-regulated in human pancreatic cancer and contributes to pancreatic cancer cell growth, and has a cytoprotective effect against anti-cancer drug in pancreatic cancer cells. Combination therapy of these anticancer drugs and chloroquine should be investigated.
