| Scientific Significance and Expected Research Achievements |
本研究は、メソポタミア文明を物流面から支えていた海洋交易の中心地ディルムンについて、未調査の遺跡を新たに発掘し、水中考古学による発掘調査を併せて実施するものである。王権の発達と海洋交易の実態を解明しようとする研究であり、高い学術的意義を有すると評価できる。準備状況も整っており、調査成果に基づくディムルン文明形成の具体相の解明が期待できる。
