Research Abstract

本年度は、ICDP死海深層掘削計画で採集した堆積物コアの堆積学的な記載、高品位デジタル画像の解析、陸上植物化石の炭素14年代測定を名古屋大学年代測定総合センター及びカルフォルニア大学（アーバイン校）の加速器質量分析計を使い実施した。本研究開始前の研究成果を合わせて、European Geosciences Union, General Assembly 2013, Vienna,Austria, April 07-12, 2013、及びGoldschmidt 2013 Conference, Florence, Italy, August 25-30, 2013で共同研究者と連名で発表した(Ina et al., 2013; Goldstein et al., 2013)。また、炭素14年代測定を実施する陸上植物化石の化学処理について、フーリエ変換赤外分光光度計(FTIR)を使った検証方法について検討を行った。さらに、イスラエル地質調査所に保管されている死海周辺の試料の整理、研究に有用な試料の選別等を行った。

Reason

当初予定した研究課題をほぼ実施し、次年度以降の研究の準備を行うことができた。また、研究成果については、国際研究集会で公表し、現在、国際的な専門誌に投稿を行った。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

次年度は、当初計画したように、ICDP死海深層掘削プロジェクトコアのアラゴナイトの高密度炭素14年代測定を実施する予定である。現状では、研究計画の変更する予定はない。
