Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究（COREF計画）は，琉球列島をフィールドとして第四紀気候変動に対するサンゴ礁およびサンゴ礁生態系の応答の解明を目的とするプロジェクトである．本科研費により，2013年度には与那国島と本部半島・古宇利島での，2014年度には小宝島での掘削が完了した．国際陸上科学掘削計画（ICDP）の経費を用いて行う予定であった，徳之島での掘削は，日欧間で研究方針に関して合意を形成することができず，本科研費の期間内に実施することができなかった．しかし，COREF計画自体には，大きな研究の進展があった．
2016年9月の日本地質学会第123年学術大会（2016年桜上水大会）において，日本・韓国・台湾の琉球列島の陸上・海洋地質および生物地理の研究者を招聘し，国際シンポジウム「Geological and paleogeographical evolution of the Ryukyu Islands in the late Cenozoic」を開催した．本シンポジウムでは，地質学的観点に基づく構造発達史と分子系統に基づく生物地理の変遷の間に存在する不一致点を洗い出し，今後の学際的国際共同研究の方向性を確立することができた．
2016年11月には，高知大学海洋コア総合研究センターで，与那国島，本部半島・古宇利島，小宝島で掘削したコア試料に関して，集中分析を行い，非常に重要な成果を得ることができた．
また，2016年には，2015年9月に沖縄で開催した「第11回国際化石藻類学会」の研究成果を国際誌Island Arcの特集号(Recent progress in study on fossil and modern calcareous algae and algal sediments)として出版するための編集作業を行った．本特集号は，2017年度に出版予定である．
