Outline of Annual Research Achievements

負イオン源プラズマに形成されたイオン性プラズマの電位構造、粒子輸送、界面形成と負イオン引き出し機構の基本特性を明らかにし、高密度負イオンの生成と引き出しの最適化による負イオンビームの大電流化を図ることを目的として、本研究を実施した。
本研究の結果、イオン性プラズマでは外部から印加した電界が電子・正イオンプラズマに比べて引出領域に深く浸透することが明らかになった。粒子輸送については、水素正イオンと電子がドライバー領域の方向から両極性拡散によりプラズマ電極へ輸送されること、一方で水素負イオンは、電子と正イオンとは逆にプラズマ電極側からドライバー領域側に輸送されることを明らかにした。さらに、水素負イオンが引出領域のほぼ全域から引き出され、プラズマ電極の近くでは、ビーム引き出し前後の電子密度と負イオン密度が電子偏向磁石による磁力線構造に強く依存して変化することが明らかになった。また、3D3V-PICシミュレーションにより、現状では実験的に測定することが難しい引出領域内のメニスカス構造と荷電粒子分布を求めた。
以上の結果は、高密度負イオンの生成と引き出しの最適化による負イオンビームの大電流化に大きく貢献するものである。
