Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、巨大な太陽面爆発(フレア)と、太陽型星での「スーパーフレア」、つまり最大級の太陽フレアの10倍から1000倍ものエネルギーを解放する超巨大フレアとの比較研究を、観測と理論の両面から行うことを目的としている。またその研究成果に基づいて、「スーパーフレアが太陽で発生する確率」を明らかにすることを最終的な目的としている。
白色光フレアを引き起こすような巨大太陽フレアは、太陽活動が黒点極大期(平成26年4月ごろ)を過ぎてから観測されることが経験的に多いことから、平成27年度も引き続き、巨大太陽フレアの観測を行い、平成27年5月6日に白色光フレアなどの観測に成功した。
フレアの数値シミュレーションモデルの推進も行った。2次元の電磁流体計算を行い、フレア時にフレアループ内の至る所に衝撃波が生成され、それらによる高エネルギー電子の観測の可能性を明らかにした。
太陽型星スーパーフレアについては、ケプラー衛星の長時間データを解析し、スーパーフレアの発生頻度や恒星黒点の(太陽活動の11年周期に相当するような)長期的変動について調べた。スーパーフレアの発生頻度と黒点の極小期・極大期におけるフレアの頻度の比較研究を行うことで、スーパーフレアを引き起こす太陽型星での活動性の変動が太陽と比べてどう違うのかを明らかにした。
