地殻形成素過程解明に向けた微小領域高精度ジルコン年代測定の実証研究

Research Abstract

レタデーション・レンズシステムを用いて二次イオン質量分析計（SHRIMP II）の信号―ノイズ比を改善することによりU-Pb年代測定の高精度化を試み，以下の研究に応用した．
本邦飛騨地域に産する変成岩中のジルコンの微小領域同位体分析・微量元素分析をおこない、ジルコンの受けてきた二次的作用の影響の評価をおこなった。得られた成果を、2013年8月にフローレンス（伊）で開催されたGoldschmidt国際会議で発表するとともに、関連分野の国際的な研究者コミュニティーの中で議論をおこなった。
新生代～第四紀の若いジルコンのU-Pb年代分析のための基礎実験をすすめた。富山県黒部川流域で第四紀花崗岩の野外地質調査と岩石試料の採取をおこなった。採取した岩石試料ならびに分離したジルコン結晶の評価とキャラクタリゼーションをおこなった。また、愛媛県石鎚コールドロンに産する新生代火山岩・深成岩類に産するジルコンの結晶表面観察とU-Pb年代測定をおこない、数10万年スケールの火山・深成岩体下部でのマグマプロセスに関する知見を得た。
南インドに産する太古代大陸地殻中のジルコン分析をおこない、大陸地殻の進化プロセスについての年代情報を得た。

Reason

二次イオン質量分析計を用いたU-Pb年代の高精度を順調に進めるとともに、標準試料のキャラクタリゼーション、ならびに、結晶の表面形態の観察と微小領域の同位体・微量元素分析によるジルコンの受けてきた二次的作用の影響の評価の解析という当初予定していた基礎研究をすすめることができた。
当初予定していた新生代～第四紀ジルコンの分析準備と予備分析を実施することができた。
太古代ジルコンの分析を実施することができた。
以上により、予定していた研究計画を順調に達成したと判断した。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

当初計画に沿って、二次イオン質量分析計本体のアップグレードと調整をすすめ、長時間連続分析の安定化と微小領域分析の空間分析精度（分析位置再現性）の向上を図り、測定の効率化と精度の向上を図る。一次イオン源である酸素を高純度18Oに変更，引出電圧等を改善することにより，二次イオン生成率を高め分析精度の向上を図る。また、標準ジルコンの基礎実験と実証実験をすすめる。
新生代～第四紀ジルコンならびに太古代ジルコンという２つのエンドメンバーの分析をすすめ、微小領域高精度ジルコン年代測定から切り拓く地殻形成素過程研究への貢献に努める。

Expenditure Plans for the Next FY Research Funding

本研究の根幹となる分析装置である二次イオン質量分析計（SHRIMP II）のモーターシステム（SMC3）と磁場フィールドコントロールユニット（FC3）のアップグレードを予定していたが、別予算を確保できたためにその分の予算をさらに発展的に研究をすすめるために有効に活用することが可能となった。
二次イオン質量分析計（SHRIMP）を用いた試料調整や分析の実施には手間と時間がかかり、また経験と熟練を要する。こうした研究のボトルネックとなっている作業を解消するために、分析の補助をおこなう研究支援員の雇用を検討している。
