Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は放射線治療・粒子線治療において、従来は危険臓器との位置関係のため根治的線量を照射することが困難であった膵臓癌等の疾患の治療に際して、腫瘍と近接する正常臓器の距離・位置関係を独自開発した吸収性スペーサーを用いて、治療期間時のみ空間創造・可変させ、これまでにない次世代放射線治療を確立することを目的とすることであるが、研究の方法として以下の５項目を挙げた。項目別に結果を示す。１．吸収性スペーサーの作製と最適仕様の決定に関しては80日間という長期にも厚みの保持できるためには0.2g/cm3の不織布が最適と考えられた。２．体内吸収性スペーサーを用いた空間可変粒子線治療の物理的特性、安全性に関しては陽子線、炭素イオン線共に100Gyという高線量を照射してもスペーサーの特性に変化がないことを確認した。また、物理評価的にも吸水したスペーサーの厚みだけの飛程の変化があったことを確認できている。３．本治療法の小動物（マウス・ラット）実験による生物的安全性の確認では炭素イオン線照射におけるスペーサーの遮断効果は一定であり、粒子線ビームをスペーサーに照射したときのスペーサーからの線量の漏えいなどがないことが確認できた。４．大型二本足動物（カニクイザル）を用いた長期安全性試験ではGLP準拠施設での非臨床試験として実施し、安全性が確認された。５．本治療法の臨床試験は神戸大学にて臨床治験を実施中であるが、現在では大きな有害反応は認められず、本療法とスペーサーの有効性と安全性が確認できたと考えている。
