| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
（１）ベトナムで採取した貝類（Periglypta crispta）から抗菌性（抗MRSA活性）の高い2,2’diMeO-BB80を含め４種のハロゲン化ビフェノールを同定した。この生成には海洋微生物が関与しており、臭素化フェノールが二量体化および塩素置換したものがメチル化され、生物濃縮される可能性が示唆された。高等生物に残留する2,2’-diMeO-BB80のラットおよびヒト肝ミクロゾームによる代謝を調べると、脱メチル化が容易に起こることが分かった。この脱メチル化反応はフェノバルビタールによる酵素誘導により著しく促進され、ヒトP450分子種のうち、CYP2B6およびCYP3A4が関与することがわかった。
（２）フィリピン海藻（Sargassum sp.）から臭素化カテコールおよびグアヤコールを検出した。周辺に生息する貝類(Spondylus sp.)で、臭素化ジフェニルエーテルおよびダイオキシン誘導体が数種検出された。その由来は臭素化カテコールを起源とし、微生物によって二量化、閉環およびメチル化が進行し、脂溶性のため生物濃縮することが示唆された。
（３）日本、台湾および韓国の海藻(Sargassum fusiforme)から、３種の臭素化ビフェノールを検出した。市販の乾燥ヒジキでも検出されたが、その組成は採取海域で大きく異なり、東南アジア海藻類の組成（methoxy体）とも異なった。臭素組成成分の化学合成したものの生物活性試験では、6-OH-BDE47, 2,2’-diOH-BB80および臭素化カテコールは、抗菌活性（S. aureus, MRSAなど）が強いことを確認した。また、これらはDPPH法およびORAC法により強い抗酸化作用を有することが分かった。Sargassum抽出物の抗菌、抗酸化作用にはこれらの臭素化ビフェノールが関与することが示唆された。
