Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The aim of this study is to propose relevant learning programs for promoting Japanese fathers’ nurturance and role-taking. We asked mothers and fathers rearing babies and infants, through questionnaire and interviews, the following questions; properties, histories of bringing up, experiences of taking care of children, nurturance, attachment, images of children, stresses of childcare, involvements of housework and child-rearing, attitudes and awareness of childcare and parental roles, environments of supporting about childcare, spending with their children, lives of childcare, marital relationships, changing themselves through child-rearing, views and evaluations of ‘being parent’,experiences of participation in any parenting seminars and their needs for seminars. Analyzing these data, we induced several viewpoints to allow us developing programs to promote fathers’ nurturance and role-taking, besides verifying their validities and effects through practicing them.
