Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, we explored two issues for the synthesis of nitrogen-containing polycyclic natural products: 1) stereoselective synthesis of 3,3-disubstituted oxindoles having a C3-quaternary stereogenic center via a chiral ortho-azaxylylene intermediate, and 2) catalytic asymmetric synthesis of N-aryl isatin. Our result allows us to synthesize a wide variety of oxindoles having substituents which can be seen in polycyclic alkaloids.
