Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The direct mechanisms of contribution of incretin to hepatocytes on the pathogenesis of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) was investigated. We found GLP-1 receptor (GLP-1R) expressed on the hepatocytes. It was clarified that incretin contributed glucose metabolisms and pathogenesis of NASH by overexpression of GLP-1R on hepatocytes. In addition, it was clarified that this system had close talk with insulin signal, IRS-1, -2, and had important roles for the glucose metabolisms in liver.
