Outline of Annual Research Achievements

血液に関する臨床データーは容易に収集し得るが、間質液に関するデーターはほとんどなく、それが故に間質液pHに注目した研究もない。
間質液に関するデーターがないという状況下において、「糖尿病患者での代謝異常誘因性組織間質液pH動態異常がインスリン抵抗性を誘発する」という仮説は今までに提唱されていない他に類を見ない斬新なアイディアである。
ISFET(イオン感応性電解効果型トランジシタ)pHセンサーという新たなるpH測定法用いて、間質液pHを低侵襲的かつ連続的に測定することにより、「糖尿病患者での代謝異常誘因性組織間質液pH動態異常がインスリン抵抗性を誘発する」という仮説を証明するにおいてチャレンジ性を有し研究を推進した。
これらのことを基盤にして、糖尿病ラットの組織間質液pHが低下していることを明らかとし、さらにインスリン抵抗性発症の原因がこの組織間質液pH低下によることも明らかにした。
