Outline of Annual Research Achievements

( 1 ) パーキンソン病の遺伝疫学的研究の基盤となる研究リソースの構築に関しては、詳細な臨床情報が活用可能な約100例の症例群と約100例の対照群のゲノムDNAの収集を実施した。更に、日本国内でも、約500例以上のパーキンソン病の解析を出来る体制を確立した。
( 2 ) 痛風遺伝子ABCG2の病因変異(多型)とパーキンソン病の関連解析をすすめ、変異があると発症年齢が遅くなることを示した(Matsuo H, Tomiyama H, et al. Ann Clin Transl Neurol 2: 302-306, 2015)。これによりパーキンソン病の発症年齢に対する尿酸及び尿酸関連遺伝子変異の保護的作用が新たな視点で明らかになり、さらに血液・脳関門(BBB)にも局在するABCG2の新たな生理学的役割と病態生理学的な関与が明らかになった。
