Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Human somatic stem cells have been focused in addition to iPS cells and ES cells as a source of cell therapy products. However, somatic cells have a limited cell life span. It remains unclarified whether their properties of the somatic cells may alter during cellular ageing in culture. In this study, we investigated carbohydrate structures of human somatic cells during cellular ageing. Structures of glycoproteins and glycolipids dynamically changed in differentiation, proliferation, and ageing.
