Outline of Final Research Achievements

This research focuses on the regional development strategy which has extremely important significance for the development of the Chinese economy, pays attention to the important change of the transfer of authority from the center to the regions beginning in the 2000s, and elucidates the background and actual situation thereof. In addition to summarizing systematically the local-led regional development strategy and revealing the formulation process, it points out that the formation of the local-led regional development strategy creates discrepancies between the center, which emphasizes policy experimentation, and the regions, which emphasize regional development, and, vis-a-vis other countries, that it gives rise to mismatches between the center, which emphasizes economic cooperation with neighboring countries, and the regions, which emphasize regional economic growth.
