| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
本研究の目的は、災害を従来とは異なる新しい倫理的枠組みで捉え直すことをめざすものである。最終年度の研究実施計画では、災害は希な事態で倫理の逸脱形態が適用されるとする従来の立場とは異なり、災害時に倫理的判断・原則の優先性や倫理的主体の在り方の重要な特徴が顕現するという立場をとると述べておいた。
最終年度の研究成果の具体的内容として、共著“Spiritual Power and Hierarchy of Nature in Ancient Japanese Myths”Philosophy of Nature in Cross-Cultural Dimensions, H. Hashi (ed.), Verlag Dr. Kovac, 2017,及び、“Disaster Prevention as an Issue in Environmental Ethics”,Japanese Environmental Philosophy, J. Baird Callicott and James McRae (eds.), Oxford University Press, 2017.がある。また、講演として、私が熊本大学で主催した11th Kumamoto University Bioethics Roundtable (2017.11.18-19)で、"Disaster Ethics: Philosophical Foundation and its Implications"というタイトルで講演を行った。ここでの議論を踏まえた論文集を、本研究の研究協力者の一人であるDr.Darryl Macerと共著で平成30年度中に出版予定である。また、日本医学哲学倫理学会・生命倫理公開講座（平成２９年度 科研費研究成果公開発表（Ｂ））「災害と倫理－公助としての医療とそれに接続する自助、共助について問う－」（2018.2.12 会場：熊本市県民交流館パレオ）において、「災害と共にある時代の自助・共助・公助－共災の時代の倫理－」というタイトルで講演を行った。
