Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Measurements utilizing terahertz waves have found and observed novel physical phenomena. High-sensitivity terahertz polarizers are demanded for accurate-polarization measurements. However, conventional wire-grid polarizers cannot simultaneously realize a high extinction ratio, high transmission power, and robustness. We demonstrate a laminated-structure polarizer with a high extinction ratio, high transmission power, and robustness. The design is performed by a mode-matching method for an iterative design, taking into fabrication conditions. Measurements by terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) confirm the performance of fabricate polarizers.
