Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Organic-inorganic hybrid materials consisting of hyaluronic acid, poly(ethylene glycol), and cyanine dyes, which absorb near-infrared light and generate ultrasound, so-called photoacoustic signal, were prepared. This materials formed nanoparticles in water, which generated photoacoustic signal efficiently under near-infrared pulse laser irradiation. When these nanoparticles injected to tumor-bearing mice, nanoparticles efficiently accumulated in tumor sites and visualized them in high contrast.
