単一磁束量子回路の性能向上に資する電流比較器の詳細な解析及び設計手法の確立

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

ジョセフソン接合(JJ)をスイッチング素子とする超伝導ディジタル回路の単一磁束量子(SFQ)回路に用いられる電流比較器の動作解析を行った。SFQ比較器としてはQuasi-One-junction SQUID(QOS)を利用したQOS比較器を選んだ。QOS比較器は3つのJJとそれらを接続するインダクタンスで構成される。QOS比較器の評価を行うための測定系の構築を行った。作製された試料において、超伝導材料としてNbを用いており、4 Kという動作温度が必要とされるため、所有しているGM(Gifford-McMahon)冷凍機を用いた。しかしながら、電源等の装置及び測定プログラムに関しては準備を整えたが、測定時における雑音の影響によりQOS比較器の動作の解析を行うことが困難であった。冷凍機を冷却するコンプレッサ、冷凍機の振動等による雑音が考えられるが、雑音源を特定するに至らなかった。
実験と並行して、数値解析を行いQOS比較器の動作の解析を引き続き行った。数値解析からは、QOS比較器を構成する超伝導ループ内の配線インダクタンスの値だけでなく、配置場所によっても比較器としての動作が大きく変わるということが明らかになった。
更にJJと回路のグランド面を接続する際に生ずる浮遊インダクタンスの影響は配線インダクタンスの影響と比較して小さいということが数値計算で明らかになった。
また、回路動作評価を行うために雑音耐性の強い回路の検討を行った。これは回路全体をグランド面で覆うようにレイアウトすることで超伝導シールドをチップ内に構成することができる。そこで回路全体をグランド面で覆ったQOS比較器の設計、作製を行った。数値計算と比較する為のQOS比較器周辺のインダクタンスの値が異なるものを数種類用意した。回路動作評価には至らなかったが、今後回路の特性を評価し、数値計算と比較することで雑音耐性に強い電流比較器の設計指針の確立へとつながることが期待される。
