| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
研究目的である「中性子捕捉療法における治癒率向上と治療予後改善を目指し、中性子捕捉療法での腫瘍への線量をリアルタイムに観測するシステムの開発」を実施するために、今年度は昨年度から引き続き国立がん研究センター中央病院で導入中である加速器を利用したホウ素中性子捕捉療法（BNCT）システムのコミッショニング作業を行い、照射される線量の実測を行った。さらに、モンテカルロシミュレーション(PHITS)での計算も実測体系と同様の体系で行い、比較・検討を行った。
実際に患者に投与される線量を知るために、体内での中性子分布を計算するためにPHITSによりファントム内の分布を計算して実測データと比較し、PHITSで計算により求めた中性子分布が実測データを再現するようにPHITS内の仮想線源の調整を実施した。その結果、仮想線源を調整する前では治療を実施することが難しいレベルであったが、調整後は治療を実施できるレベルの再現性を得ることに成功した。また、国立がん研究センター中央病院のBNCT装置の中性子は、システムによる中性子照射が多くなるにつれて、中性子の出力が低下する現象が確認されたため、その低下を予想できるような計算式を作成し、治療時の出力低下にfeed backをかけることで、BNCT必要な中性子量をより正確に照射出来るシステムの構築を行った。この結果は、現在国際誌へ投稿中である。さらに、上記の出力の低下減少に伴う体内線量分布への影響をまとめて、国際誌に投稿し、出版された。
