| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
A total of 717 HCV infected patients, including 142 hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and 575 non-HCC, were enrolled in the study. DNA extracted from blood samples were subjected to analyze single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) by two methods, TaqMan assay and direct sequencing. We found that minor genotype of MICA, but not DEPDC5, HCP5 and PNPLA3 SNPs correlates with an increased risk of HCC development, particularly in patients older than 64.

Reason
We have analyzed 717 samples with 4 SNPs (MICA, DEPDC5, HCP5 and PNPLA3). Our positive finding was selected as an oral presentation in Symposium 1 of the Annual Meeting of Japan Society of Hepatology, Kumamoto 2015/5/21-22.

平成２７年度,２８年度研究実施計画
①HCV治療実施症例にてSNPs解析を実施し肝発癌の有無を前向きに追跡する。
② 抗HCV治療前の肝生検サンプルにてmiRNA発現解析を実施。１年目の研究にて抽出されたmiRNA制御遺伝子の発現を解析する。
③癌にはRNAスプライシングの異常の関与している。さらにウイルスの排除の有無によって発癌の様式が異なるか否かを明らかにするために次世代シークエンサーを使いエクソンアレイを解析する。
