| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
A total of 717 HCV infected patients, including 142 hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) and 575 non-HCC, were enrolled in the study. DNA extracted from blood samples were subjected to analyze single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) by two methods, Taq Man assay and direct sequencing. We found that minor genotype of MICA, but not DEPDC5, HCP5 and PNPLA3 DNPs correlates with an increased risk of HCC development, particularly in patients older than64.

Reason
We have analyzed 717 samples with 4 SNPs (MICA, DEPDC5, HCP5 and PNPLA3). Our positive finding was selected asa an oral presentation in Symposium 1 of the Annual Meeting of Japan Society of Hepatology, Kumamoto 2015/5/21-22.
