Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study was performed with the goal of devising a new split liver protocol. First, as the research of appropriate condition of subnormothermic oxygenated prefusion, the necessity of the oxygen carrier was examined. It is suggested that the oxygen carrier makes higher graft preservative effect. Second, a novel split liver protocol using the subnormotheric oxygenated circuit system in a porcine model was performed. This study revealed that the subnormothermic oxygenated circuit system is more efective than cold storage which has been used in clinical situation in split liver protocol. This protocol may help to overcome the lack of brain-death donor liver graft.
