Research Abstract

1.Beowulf Lexicon,Chaucer Lexoiconを究極の目標として進めているKeyーWord Studies in Beowulf and Chaacer (以下KWSBeoCh) は, その3を今期最終年度刊行の予定で, 編集準備作業をそれぞれ担当する語彙の原稿作成, 参考書誌目録の改訂増補, Lexiconのあるべき姿の検訂などについて行なった. その成果の一部は63年3月刊行予定のPhilologia Anglica (寺澤芳雄教授還暦記念論文集) に小野, 岩崎, 池上, 大泉ほかによって報告された.
2.KWSBeoChの拠るべき底本として問題となるBeowulf,Chaucerのテクストの問題についての検討も同時に進め, その研究成果の一部は, Bewulfについては62年5月の日本英文学会第59回大学シンポジウム「Beowulfのtextを考える」 (司会 忍足) において忍足, 佐藤による, またChaucerについては, 62年10月同志社大学において本研究の研究分担者を中心に開催された「チョーサーの英語に関する研究者会議」 (司会, 報告者として小野, 高橋, 安東, 岩崎, 大泉, 高宮, 久保内, 本研究代表者として寺澤が参加) において報告された. またとくにBeowulfについては, その検討に便ならしめるためVariorum Beawulf編集準備作業を進め, Thorkelin(1815),Kemble(1833)などの各種刊本の収集も併せて行なった.
3.OE,ME各期のテクスト校討作業については, Stanzaic Morte Arthureの本文校合が完了し, コンピュター入力作業を開始した.
4.コンコーダンス作成に向け, Klaeber.版Beowulf,Chaucerについては, ManlyーRickert版The Canterbury Tales, Riverside Chaucer版Boece, とくに仏語底本が問題となるThe Romaunt of the Rose は中世仏語本のテクスト入力作業を行なった. The Destruction of Troyの入力も完了した.
5.「宮部文庫目録」改訂版を62年8月に刊行. 「中世英語英文学研究業績リスト」は補遺版編集準備作業を行なった.
