Research Abstract |
1. The trend and clinical significance of chemical mediators in the uveitis patients Leukotriene B_4 level was increased in the serum of patients with Behcet's disease. PAF level was also increased in the serum of uveitis patient. These explain increase of chemotaxis activity and high sensitivity of neutrophils from Behcet patients. 2. Inter action of chemical mediators Studying the effects of various mediators on PGE_2 release from albino rabbit iris, Substance P and PAF increased, but VIP inhibited. Interleukin I (IL-1) induced ocular inflammation in rabbit, especially in anterion segment of the eye. The combination of PG synthesis inhibitor and PAF antagonist is most effective to IL-1 induced inflammation. PAF increased superoxide production in human blood and PAF antagonist inhibits its reaction.
