Outline of Annual Research Achievements

高活性水素を選択的に生成するナノ構造体界面を構築する技術を確立するため、ナノ構造体(ナノ粒子、薄膜、クラスター)界面での高活性水素(原子状水素H0、ヒドリドH-、プロトンH+)の高選択的生成法を確立することを目的とする。本年度には以下のような成果が得られた。
金属ナノ粒子界面に生成する原子状水素は高い反応性を示すと期待できる。新規ナノ構造体として、高表面積を有する多孔性配位高分子であるMIL-101を金属Pdで被覆することでPdナノカプセル(Pd/MIL-101)を作製した。Pd/MIL-101はMIL-101への物理吸着とPd内部の化学吸着の協同効果により温和な条件(223 K、10気圧)で高い水素吸蔵特性を示すことがわかった。2H NMRや水素圧力下ESR測定からナノカプセル界面にはPd表面からMOF上にスピルオーバーした原子状(重)水素が存在することが明らかとなった。Pd膜上でのスピルオーバー水素のその場XPS測定に成功するなど、高活性水素の観察方法の開発も大きく進んだ。また、シクロペンタジエニル基C5Me4SiMe3を有する希土類金属や4族遷移金属からなる高活性ヒドリドを含む水素クラスターの構築に初めて成功した(J. Phy. Soc. Jpn., 2020)。特に、C5Me4SiMe3基を有する多核チタン水素クラスターは、窒素分子の切断と水素化や、芳香族化合物の炭素-炭素結合切断と骨格変換反応など、非常に高い反応性を示すことが明らかとなった(J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2019)。さらに、プロトン/電子プーリング機能を有する二置換芳香族分子に対する光照射により活性水素ラジカルの選択的放出に関する官能基依存性を定量的に初めて明らかにした。

Reason

Pdナノカプセルの内部界面には、高い活性を示すと期待される原子状のスピルオーバー水素が生成することや、新規に作製した体心立法型RuFeナノ合金上では、N2およびH2が高度に活性化され、高いNH3合成活性を示すことが明らかにななるなど、当初の予想を超える成果が得られている。また、Pd単原子合金モデル触媒上での、水素分子の解離吸着、Cuサイトへの水素原子のスピルオーバー現象、ギ酸の分解とフォルメート種の水素化反応についての知見も得られてきた。さらに、水素クラスターや遷移金属錯体の化学状態及び水素との相互作用をオペランドX線光電子分光を使って調べるための実験が進んでいる。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

領域内連携での量子化学計算によるメカニズム解析とともに、A04とA05-1で開発をすすめるその場変調励起減衰分光(MES)やオペランド計測を組み合わせて、ナノ合金界面に生成する原子状水素や基質分子の化学状態の解明を行うことや、A05-2との連携により実験・理論の両面から高活性水素の電子状態と反応メカニズムの関連性を解明することで高活性水素の特性を活用した高選択、高難度、高効率の反応プロセスを開拓する。
