Research Abstract |
An outpatient practical training (one student attends one patient while the patient comes and leaves the hosipital) conducted for freshmen of medical students turn out that majority of students have had such an impression as "Ihave become more conscious of being a medical student" or "it was such a useful experiennc". This result suggests that the outpatient practical training has proved to be successful from the medical educational point of view. Also, the practical training in a hospital freshmen of the medical school (assign one or two students to wards, clinical departments such as outpatient department, and medical support departments such as clinical laboratory department, medical records department and pharmacy department to have them experience hospital medical care) result in a similar success as a result derived from the outpatient practical training. These outpatient practical training and the practical training in a hospital for freshmen have turned out to be useful in the lectures and practical training when the students become second or third year students. The responses to the questionnaire from the medical students who have taken the class of medical systems and administration shows that most of the students have realized the necessary of the lecture of medical systems and administration for their carrier. It is necessary to conduct the further research to evaluate the effects of these practical training on the fourth, fifth and the sixty year students who have gone throuth these training when they were freshmen. Since the lecture of medical systems and administration will be provided to the first to fifth year students from April 1997, it is important to continue the evaluation of these training curriculum.
