Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Based on earlier investigations of the project, fundamental theories regarding Active Learning Based Teaching were scrutinized and consolidated its complexity in its applications. In order to construct essential elements of ALBT in English as foreign language (EFL), a series of studies carried out by the project have illuminated many important aspects by taking prior findings of the project into consideration such as effectiveness and concern of English as medium of instruction (EMI) in EFL lessons and the conceptual construct of ALBT in EFL and its concerns of EFL teachers. Based on the accumulated works under the project, we formulated the Self-Reflective Evaluation Tool for ALBT Lessons (SRETAL) in EFL which can allow English language instructors working at schools under the current course of study, to organize their lesson plans instantly and conveniently by implementing this self-check tool into daily lessons.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
これまで, 日々の英語の授業がどの程度「主体的・対話的で深い学び」であるかは縦断的な実証検証がほとんどで, 教師視点の点検シートは存在せず, 授業計画から教育実践そして授業内省及び授業改善の環往を日々行う英語教師にとって, 簡便で即時的な点検方法は確立されていなかった。本プロジェクトを通じ開発した「英語のALBT自己点検シート」を用いることにより, 普段の英語の授業の計画や授業後の内省が効率よく行え, 日々の実践から新学習指導要領が求める教育理念を具現化することができ, 概念と勇気的に結びついている授業形態を意識することで現代社会において必要とされる汎用的能力の育成を効果的に行うことができる。
