Developing students’academic questioning skills not only nurtures students’ self-learning skills, but also can encourage them to ask good questions in future academic conferences, activating further scientific investigations. We have launched a program to develop questioning skills in three steps. First, we encouraged students to ask as many questions as possible in classes. Second, we created an evaluation sheet for questions consisting of: 1) importance, 2) originality, 3) rhetoric, 4) whether micro or macro level and 5) who benefits (questioner only; questioner plus audience; all including presenter).
We established the reliability and content validity of the evaluation sheet in three academic conferences. Third, we provided students with opportunities to evaluate many questions in academic conferences using the evaluation sheet. Good questions could be measured by the current evaluation sheet, which might enable us to teach questioning skills systematically.

第二は、科学の総体的な向上である。最上のアカデミックな質問は、研究者の研究活動を活性化し、日本の研究活動のレベルアップをもたらす。文部科学省は思考力・判断力・表現力を育成する目的で入試改革を進めている。質問力は、学会の場をモデルとしながらも、あらゆる知的活動の場に汎用でき、まさしく主体性を持った思考力の土台となるものである。
