Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究で設定している4つの課題について以下の結果を得た。
1)渦流動場の粒子集積過程の解明と放出制御能の探査では、主に平行平板型二枚翼を用いて、撹拌翼の幾何学形状および、設置位置を変えて粒子の分散性能を調べた。その結果、撹拌翼の回転初期の段階では、バーガーズ渦状の旋回渦が発達することで、粒子の巻き上げや分散が促進するが、流れが十分発達するとサリバン渦状の流れ状態となり、粒子が旋回渦の中心部に集積することを見出した。また、撹拌翼の回転速度を変化させ、流れに非定常性を持たせることで、粒子分散性能を向上させることができることがわかった。
2)渦内の混合・反応特性の調査では、液滴振動装置を用いて、振動周波数と振幅を変化させ、液滴内の循環流動パターンと混合過程を調べた結果、振動の振幅が大きく、周波数が低い場合に液滴内の混合が促進されることがわかった。また、数値シミュレーションの結果から、液滴表面と内部では異なる循環流が存在していることが明らかになった。
3)円錐型テイラー渦流について非ニュートン流体の混合を調べた結果、shear-thinning流体における流れ場全体の混合は、ニュートン流体を用いた場合と比較して、円錐型テイラー渦流で発生する子午線流れの増大により促進されることがわかった。したがって、円錐型テイラー渦流装置は、shear-thinning流体系での混合過程を強化するために使用できる可能性があることがわかった。
4) 渦の移動による剥離および、物質輸送能の調査では、オーストラリアのRMIT大学、CSIROと撹拌槽内に付着するスケールの軽減に関する共同研究を行い、撹拌槽に設置したバッフルにおいて、バッフルと撹拌槽壁に隙間を空けることで、その隙部を流体が通過するときに発生する縮流渦の非定常性による流体摩擦変動がスケールの付着抑制に寄与していることを見出した。

Reason

課題1)においては、現在企業との共同研究テーマに展開した。
課題2)においては、国立台湾大学との国際共同研究として進行中である。
課題3)においては、円錐形のテイラー渦流による研究は、多様な流動現象を数値計算により再現できるようになり、非ニュートン流体への展開が可能とな理、その成果を学術誌に発表した。
課題4)については、これまでの知見を基に、撹拌槽のスケール付着軽減に関する国際共同研究を継続し、学術誌へ発表した。また、企業との共同研究成果については、工学的に特に意義のある論文として選ばれ、Advances In Engineering (AIE) のウェブサイトにて紹介されることとなった。
以上各課題とも順調に研究成果が上がっており、本研究課題全体として「おおむね順調に進展している。」と自己評価した。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

1)渦流動場の粒子集積過程の解明と放出制御能の探査については、撹拌槽内の粒子分散・凝集挙動の研究を粒子濃度が高い条件で行い、撹拌槽の形状の効果について詳細に調べる。また、撹拌翼の回転数を変化させる非定常撹拌操作を引き続き行い、粒子凝集の制御性を検証する。
2)渦内の混合・反応特性の調査については、国際共同研究先と共同でLeidenfrost現象を用いた液滴移動と二液滴衝突制御実験を本格的に行う。また、液滴と接触する固体表面の性状の効果について詳細に調べる。
3)円錐型テイラー渦流を利用した粒子分級については、数値シミュレーションにより非ニュートン流体での分級特性を詳細に調査する。また、円筒型テイラー渦流の混相流動系での応用研究を行い、実装置への適用性を検討する。
4)渦の移動による剥離および、物質輸送能の調査については、今年度までに得られた撹拌槽のスケール軽減に関する研究結果を踏まえて、固体壁上の渦流動モデルを構築し、振動流バッフル付き管型反応器を用いた晶析プロセスでの渦流動におけるスケール付着を構築したモデルで検証する。
