| Research Abstract |
生体には、外界に接している臓器で異物の進入を先ず阻むという防御機能が備わっている。その実体の把握は、生体の理解とより有効な医療のために必須であるが、その分子機構は良く分かっていない。研究代表者はすでにその実体の一つを明らかにし、遺伝性黄疸の原因となっていることをつきとめたが、本研究ではさらに、異物排出タンパク質が腸管や血球の腫瘍形成に関与すること、異物排出タンパク質の機能阻害により腫瘍の発生を予防できることを見出した。
