Research Abstract

単純ヘルペスウイルスの母子感染例から、母子のウイルスの温度感受性と細胞トロピズムに差異を見出したので、その解析を行い、遺伝子変異を見出した。母子のそれぞれの株のクローンについても、同一の変異を認め、トロピズムと遺伝子変異の一致を認めた。このように、母子間で変異を生じていることから、母のウイルスが変異することで、感染が可能となる、すなわち、母子感染の障壁があると考えられた。
