Research Abstract

液晶セル内に可動フィルムを導入し、液晶の電場誘起流動を利用した液晶モータおよびアクチュエータを開発した。今回開発した技術は、従来のディスプレイ技術において避けられるべき存在であった流動を積極的に利用している。このような1次元または2次元の双方向の動力を電場の波形変化のみで取り出せるようにしたソフトアクチュエータは他には見られず、国内的にも国際的にも、新規性・独創性は極めて高い。
