| Outline of Research at the Start |
日本のIRは担当者の量的拡大による導入期を過ぎ、現在はIR活動の質的向上が急務となっている。IR活動が有効に機能するためには専門性を備えた人材がいるだけでは不十分であり、その専門性が各大学の文脈の中で活用される必要がある。
本研究は①「大学が期待する成果」、②「必要となる専門性」、③「IR担当者が実際に持つ専門性」の相互構造に着目し、IRの専門性が大学の文脈に合致して活用されるための促進要因と阻害要因を解明する。さらに自大学がIRに期待している内容を明確化するためのルーブリックを開発する。
本研究により大学側の期待とIR担当者の専門性のミスマッチを解消し、日本のIRを有効に機能させることを目指す。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study examined the relationship between the competencies of Institutional Research (IR) personnel in universities and the expectations of executive bodies. We considered the influence of the universities' establishment type (national, public, private) and scale, measured by undergraduate student capacity. Our survey uncovered diverse expectations for IR activities, varying with the universities' type and scale. Although there was a high degree of congruence between these expectations and the existing state of affairs, notable differences emerged according to university type and size. Notably, public universities and smaller universities showed less alignment, potentially indicating staffing challenges. This research provides insights to help universities develop IR activities that best suit their needs.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究は大学のIR担当者の能力と大学執行部の期待の関係について、大学の設置形態と規模による違いに着目して検証した。アンケート調査の結果、大学の設置形態と規模により、期待と現状の関係性に差異があることが示唆された。
学術的には、IR活動の質的向上と効果的な人員配置について新たな視点を提供した。大学経営におけるデータに基づく意思決定を支えるための重要な知見を提供することで、教育研究の改善に寄与した。
社会的には、本研究は各大学が自大学の状況に応じた最適なIR活動を展開していくための手がかりを提供する。本研究によって、より効果的な大学運営が可能となり、大学教育の質向上につながることが期待される。
