Outline of Final Research Achievements

個々の分子が磁石として振る舞う単分子磁石(single molecule magnet, SMM)の合成に際し, 重希土類金属イオンを用いる手法が注目を集めている. 本研究ではTb(III), Dy(III), Ho(III)等の希土類イオンに着目し, 磁気異方性発現のメカニズムと強化について結晶場の設計という観点から詳細の解明を試み, 分子設計によって磁気異方性と単分子磁石挙動をコントロールするための新たな手法について提示した.
