Outline of Research at the Start	本研究はヒトの創傷部位に存在するマクロファージに注目し，創傷治癒過程における役割を詳細に解明することを目的とする。フローサイトメトリーの技術を用いてヒトの創傷部位に存在するマクロファージを選択的に回収し，遊走やサイトカイン分泌などの機能を解析するとともに，創傷の状態（急性，慢性）や合併症（糖尿病や膠原病など）との関連についても明らかにする。また，マクロファージを用いた細胞治療の可能性についても検討を重ね，臨床応用を目指す。
Outline of Final Research Achievements	We established a method of flow-cytometric analysis of granulation tissues in the wound. We examined the rate of immune cells in the granulation tissues. The rate of monocyte-macrophage lineage cells in the granulation tissues was higher than that in the peripheral blood. Some of the macrophages in the granulation tissues expressed the surface marker of CD206, which was a marker for M2-type macrophages.
Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements	フローサイトメトリーによる肉芽組織の解析方法を確立し，肉芽組織に存在する免疫系細胞の存在割合を明らかにできた意義は大きい。今回の研究により，これまでは形態による病理学的な解析でしか語られなかった，創傷治癒過程におけるマクロファジの重要性を定量的なデータでも示すことができた。特に，M2タイプのマクロファージの存在を示すことができた意義は大きい。今後はマクロファージによるサイトカイン分泌や，他の細胞との相互作用について研究が進むことが期待される。
