Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study was aimed to research self-management of the hypertensive patients, and their understanding of hypertension disease. We conducted a survey to 150 hypertensive patients using the questionnaire asking their understanding on hypertension disease and their self-management behavior.According to the survey, more than 70% of the patients understood items such as a disease aggravation risk factors, complications, and subjective symptoms.High positive correlation was observed for the questions such as “do you know what kind of disease hypertension is?” and “do you know the risk factors that aggravate high blood pressure?”As to the self-management, diet, rest, sleep, and oral medication management had been conducted satisfactorily. On the other hand, self-management such as drinking, smoking, exercise, and bathing was insufficient.
