Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The following surveys were conducted in order to formulate measures to reduce turnover among early childhood teachers. 1 A questionnaire survey of 157 newly appointed (within two years of starting their careers) early childhood teachers working in authorized day nurseries in the Tokai area, to identify factors that influence turnover intention. 2 A web-based questionnaire survey that targeted 574 early childhood teachers (including both newly appointed and veteran teachers) working in childcare facilities in Japan, to identify: (1) factors that determine turnover intention among early childhood teachers, (2) relationships between nursery school climate and turnover intention among early childhood teachers, and (3) relationships between nursery school climate and organizational commitment.The findings of 1 and 2 (including those already published) will be published in scientific journals and scientific or research meetings.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
学術的意義:先行研究においては、保育者の離職の要因を単純集計した調査はあったが、統計的な手法を用いて検討されてこなかった。そのようななかで本研究は、第1に、保育者の離職意向の要因を統計的な手法を用いて明らかにすることができた。第2に、保育園の「組織風土」や「組織コミットメント」という新しい観点からアプローチを行った点において学術的に貢献できたといえる。社会的意義:本研究は、保育者の離職意向の規定要因を明らかにし、それに基づいた離職防止の方策を提案することができた。このことは、保育士不足を解消し、保育の質を維持していくことに役立つものとなると考える。
