Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study the principal researcher examined mainly old documents in Kami-shiojiri village, Chisagata district, Shinano, Japan. The principal researcher submitted to village community and the regional finance in the early modern Japan. We confirmed that the lasting mutual financial associations 'Eizoku-ko' were founded in Kami-shiojiri village. The main member of the Eizoku-ko were the silkworm egg merchants who lived in Kami-shiojiri village. Eizku-sha was reorganized into the Shiojiri-bank in 1880.
