研究概要

「カルパイン」はヒトでは15遺伝子にコードされている、細胞内カルシウム依存性タンパク質「調節切断」酵素のである。カルパインは生体が健康に維持されるように機能し、例えば、カルパイン3や8の遺伝子に変異が入ると、それぞれ筋ジストロフィーおよびストレス性胃腸疾患を発症する。本研究では、組織特異的に機能するカルパインに注目してその機能を解析した。その結果、カルパイン3、8、9などが不全になるとどのように疾患が発症してしまうかというメカニズムの一部を明らかにすることが出来た。
