基盤研究(C)
理科系基礎科目においては、「その学問が、いかに大切なのか、なんに役立つのか」ということが学生にとってわかり辛い点が問題の1つとして挙げられる。そこで、本研究では、学生が比較的興味を持つ「コンピュータの仕組み」を例に挙げ、コンピュータを構成する各部において、その原理を数学、物理等の理科系基礎科目の範疇で解説を行うことで理科系基礎科目の一部分の習得を狙うと同時に、いかに基礎科目の習得が重要であるかを認識させることを目指したオンライン教材の作成および評価を目的とした。コンテンツとしては、主としてWebCT及びMoodle等の学習管理システム(LMS)上に構成し、HTMLによるオンラインテキスト、達成度確認用自動採点テスト、可視化およびシミュレーションのためのJavaアプレット、Java3Dによる仮想実験、Javaによる遠隔実験等の開発を行ってきた。コンテンツの可搬性向上のため、IMS準拠、Locale対応の国際化可能な構成とした。Javaによる遠隔実験は、各種センサの測定をTelnetからWebブラウザ上のJavaアプレットまで行えるものを研究開発した。また、各種サーバを分散活用することに起因するユーザ認証の問題を解決するため、統合認証システムCASをサポートすることでシングルサインオンを実現し、サーバ間をシームレスに接続する手法や、Javaアプレットに関しては、CASをサポートしたWebアプリケーションとの連携による個人毎のパラメータの保存等についても、研究開発を行った。運用面では、学内LMSによる運用だけでなく、「くまもとインターネット市民塾」上でも公開可能とした。これらの研究成果は、国内外の学会で発表するとともに、学術雑誌でも論文として広く公開した。
