研究概要

ガ類の性フェロモン交信系は高度に発達しているが、種分化に伴う交信系の進化の過程では、メスの性フェロモン生産系とオスのフェロモン受容系の進化が協調して起こる必要がある。アワノメイガ類を用いて、この協調進化のメカニズムについて研究した。メス側では、性フェロモン生合成に関与する酵素の遺伝子のクローニングと機能解析を進めた。オスの触角の嗅覚感覚子に特異的に存在するフェロモン受容体については、すべての候補遺伝子をクローニングしたうえで機能解析を行った。
