研究概要

本研究では,理論研究によるアルゴリズム開発を行うだけでなく,開発したアルゴリズムに発見的手法を組み合わせることで,「人が待てる」高速なアルゴリズムの開発まで一貫して行った.電力系統の配電融通問題などに応用がある「需要と供給のグラフ分割問題」に対しては,近似アルゴリズムを与え,発見的手法と組み合わせることで,瞬時に分割を求めることに成功した.一方で,選挙区割問題や画像処理などに応用がある「グラフの均一分割問題」に対しては,最適解を多項式時間で求めるアルゴリズムを与えることに成功した.
