研究概要

原因不明の難病である自己免疫疾患の原因究明を目指して遺伝性自己免疫疾患の原因遺伝子Aireの遺伝子改変マウスを作製・解析した。すなわち、Aire欠損マウス(Aire-KO)に加え新たにAire遺伝子の発現制御下にCre recombinaseを発現するノックインマウス(Aire/ Cre-KI)を作製し、胸腺上皮細胞の分化プログラムにおけるAireの役割を検討した。その結果、Aireは胸腺上皮細胞が最終分化段階に成熟するために必要な分化因子として作用していることが示唆された。
