研究概要

妊娠を成立させることは、種の保存戦略で最も基本的な事象である。哺乳動物では、妊娠成立に黄体が分泌するプロジェステロンが必須である。本研究は、黄体形成の分子機構を解明することで、受胎率向上への技術開発の展望を得ようとする企画である。
本研究の結果から、ウシ黄体内にVEGF-Vhシステムが存在する事を初めて見出した。また、VhはVEGFによって発現が誘導され、VEGFで刺激された血管新生に抑制的に働く事が示された。血管新生が盛んな初期黄体では、VEGFが血管新生を促進すると同時に、Vh発現を誘導する血管新生抑制機構を制御することで、血管新生が過剰に起こるのを防ぐ役割を果たしている可能性が考えられた。
