研究概要

微分式系の概念を通じて、２階１未知関数偏微分方程式系を幾何学的に研究する「二階接触幾何学」を２階のPD多様体の幾何学として定式化した。さらに、この幾何学において、基本的である二段階の「簡約化定理」を確立した。
この「簡約化定理」を応用して、パラボリック幾何学（すなわち、単純階別リー環に付随する幾何構造の幾何学）に帰着される多くの二階過剰決定系のクラスの例の具体的な構成法を明示した。
